Twice a month, the Mothers' Group gathers with our minister, Reverend Wendy von Zirpolo, in the support of each other and as a group interested in spiritual development. This diverse group of women includes new mothers along with seasoned parents, regulars along with drop-ins, new Unitarian Universalists along with cradle UUs.

What participants say they value about the gathering:

• mutual support of each other regardless of the depths of joy or parental frustration
• creation of a safe space to be received
• joint exploration of deep issues
• mutual caring about how each member is doing.

It is also clear that this has been and is a group committed to extending that mutuality to others.

We meet on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Nichols room at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Marblehead. We open with a chalice lighting, a reading, and a check-in (share how we are each doing). Then we explore a topic together. At times the topic will emerge organically and with some urgency from the check-ins. At other times it will stem from a reading, an article, or perhaps a question.
