Immigration has been an area of concern for our members for many years. One of our Meetinghouse presentations,by Dr.Alexandra Pinieros-Shields and Dr.Avi Chomsky focused on the history of immigration to this country over time.

Informed by the Essex County Community Organization and UU Mass Action we engage in legislative advocacy for current undocumented immigrants at the MA statehouse.

Through  ECCO, of which we are members, UUCM also works with volunteers from many other area churches to provide direct practical aide to immigrants and supports empowerment to achieve economic independence.

Food donations update for our immigrant neighbors in Lynn:

Families are working hard to make ends meet.

An amazing volunteer effort to provide weekly food deliveries for Casa Mariposa and Lynn Rapid Response Network immigrant families in Lynn is helping to fill the gap.

Casa Mariposa Sponsorship Opportunity

Sponsors are an essential part of the Casa Mariposa community. At Casa Mariposa, (www.casamariposa.org) we keep rents as low as possible. But even with that, many families cannot afford to pay their full rent. Sponsors make up the difference, so that Casa Mariposa can keep continuing to provide housing to our residents regardless of their ability to pay. We are happy to announce that our application for 501c3, tax-exempt status has been approved.
