our minister, Rev. Jenna Crawford
Jenna.JPG

Rev. Jenna Crawford joined UUCM as senior minister in August 2022. Previously, she served as the Ministerial Intern at First Parish in Needham (MA) for two years. Rev. Jenna holds a BA from Hamilton College, where she dabbled in biology, chemistry, philosophy, and history, and a Masters of Divinity from Boston University School of Theology, with a concentration in Interfaith Leadership.

Rev. Jenna answered the call to ministry because she believes that Unitarian Universalism has the power to be a life- and planet-saving, countercultural force in twenty-first century American life and because she believes that it also nudges us to be our best selves.

Before seminary, Rev. Jenna was an outdoor educator and trip leader in the beautiful American Southwest, for a small nonprofit called Cottonwood Gulch Expeditions. From the painted deserts of eastern Arizona to the great sand dunes of southern New Mexico, Rev. Jenna would lead kids and youth on backpacking and climbing expeditions. Rev. Jenna’s love of wild places and impatience for unjust systems fuels her ministerial commitment to an environmental justice that is race- and class-informed.

Rev. Jenna currently resides in Somerville, Massachusetts, which is to say the ancestral homeland of the Massachusett and Pawtucket people. In her free time, Rev. Jenna can be found climbing, running, reading, writing, or exploring Cambridge and Somerville by restaurant.
