Sermon: "Do Machines Have Souls?"

Every year, more and more jobs that people used to do are taken over by machines. What does this development portend?  Popular culture sees a danger in Artificial Intelligence, in robots overthrowing their human masters and setting up a machine state. But short of that horror, there are many other disquieting questions. Do we accord to machines an assumption of inherent worth and dignity. If a machine acquires sentience or consciousness approaching that if the human, is it murder to pull the plug?​
