The Social Action Committee leads our congregation's justice work. Our efforts to effect change focus locally, nationally, and globally. We regularly partner with other mission-driven organizations.

Some of Our Justice Priorities
Climate Justice
Our Unitarian Universalist shared values and principles remind us that everything is interdependent. We actively work to protect the planet and advance our climate resiliency.
Criminal Justice
The criminal justice system does not serve the public well. In particular, treatment of offenders effectively supports mass incarceration, especially of racial minorities, perpetuating a modern form of slavery.
Economic Justice
We strive to support all who need help. Massachusetts has one of the highest costs of living in the United States. We seek avenues to advance equity and protect our most vulnerable.
Racial Justice & Antiracism
The Social Action Committee has been working to combat racism and white supremacy for many years. We have focused particularly on combatting racism within our town and throughout Massachusetts.
Gender & Sexuality Justice
In our congregation, we affirm and promote that trans lives are sacred, choice matters, everyone deserves to be paid fairly regardless of gender, and love is love.
Protecting Democracy
Democracy in the United States has never fully represented the will of all the people. Restrictions on voting access, gerrymandering, and campaign finance inequities have also impacted basic freedoms.
Affordable Housing
The Boston area has some of the highest housing costs in the nation. State and local governments have worked to ease the burden for as many as funds and voters allow. The committee support these programs.
Immigration
We support all our immigrant neighbors. Every person deserves respect, compassion, and support.
